At 1754 hours on 3/2/2022, Calvert County ECC alerted Co. 1, Co. 5, Co. 6, Co. 2, AA Co. 9 & 42 along with PA219 & the North Duty Chief for a structure fire in the 8000blk of Silver Fox Way in Richfield Station. E11 arrived on scene and found a fire on the outside of an end of row townhouse. Chief 1 arrived and assumed command. The fire was quickly extinguished with a single 1.5” hoseline. Crews checked the inside of the house for extension and found none. Members remained on scene for approximately one hour performing salvage and overhaul. Neighbors kept the fire in check with garden hoses until the fire department arrived.
The NBVFD reminds all homeowners to keep appliances in good repair, discard smoking materials in a metal container away from the structure, maintain working smoke alarms on all levels, and call the fire department as soon as a fire is discovered.
