Skills USA - Gold and Silver

Today, the Mechanicsville VFD hosted the Skills USA Firefighting/EMS regional competition. We are proud to announce that two members of Company 1, Oliver Fox and Ryan King, placed first and second, respectively, in the Fire Division!

A Dunkirk VFD Cadet took 3rd place. We are extremely proud of Calvert County sweeping the Fire Division.

Evolutions the students completed today were the hose drag, forcible entry, tool carry, and dummy drag. Our members have moved onto States and will be held in the near future.

The Skills USA Competition is a national program where high school students in vocational programs compete in their respective fields of study, demonstrating their competence.
