On Thursday, August 28, 2025, Chris Ward from Emergency Vehicle Services and Chief Engineer Robert Small performed annual pump testing on all North Beach apparatus that carries a pump. This test is required by ISO to ensure all pumps are operating at their designed capacity. The testing includes drafting (drawing water into the pump from a body of water), volume (pump operating at its rated capacity), and pressure (pump capable of discharging water at its designed pressures). Members assisting with the test learned valuable lessons about pump operations while the tests were being conducted.
