| On Monday, August 10, 2026, at 2245 hours, Company 1 was alerted for a car into a tree near the intersection of Route 260 and Harrison Boulevard. Two vehicles traveling eastbound on Route 260 encountered a large section of tree that had fallen across the road after the thunderstorm. Both vehicles struck the tree.
The caller stated they had run up onto the tree but was uninjured. The second vehicle continued east approximately 1/4 mile before their vehicle started smoking. The driver of the second vehicle was treated by PA201 and transported to Calvert Health Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Members of Company 1 used chain saws and a blower to clear one lane so traffic could begin moving again. Units were on scene for approximately one hour between the two scenes. |
