| Boat 1 responds to marine and land-based emergencies over a large portion of the Chesapeake Bay and connected waterways. Because the range of potential emergencies is wide, and because marine crews often operate as single units, the training is extensive.
Today, NBVFD crews executed three capstone exercises for boat mate trainees. These included rescue of a conscious patient, multiple patient rescue, and stokes basket rescue. The trainees performed admirably, and are now full mates for Boat 1.
