Our cadets expanded their knowledge and skills at this month’s Sunday drill. Lt. Ryan Ortenzo led the training with a review of the structural firefighting standard operating procedures followed by table top exercises to reinforce apparatus placement and responsibilities. The group also received an introduction on radio operations.
The cadets then headed outside for some physical skills building using the newly created crosslay prop and advancing hoselines around obstacles.
Each session is designed to build knowledge and skills so the cadets are prepared for the demands of serving the community when they turn 16.
