At 15:34 hours, Area Box 611 was dispatched for the house on fire in the 3000 block of Morris Court in Company 6’s area. Engine 12, Tower 1, Chief 1, Safety 1 & Safety 1A responded along with units from Calvert, Anne Arundel & Prince George’s County.

First arriving units from Huntingtown VFD arrived to find a two-story single family on a basement, with fire showing from 1st, 2nd floors and roof. Units began with an offensive attack but quickly transitioned to a defensive attack due to conditions in the building rapidly deteriorating.

Engine 12 assisted with water supply and Tower 1 assisted with overhaul. Safety 1 and Safety 1A assisted with safety of the fireground. Chief 1 had water supply.

Unfortunately the family lost 2 pets in this fire. Always ensure you have working smoke alarms throughout your home.
