| At 0342 hours, Area box 110 was sounded for the house on fire in the 3600 block of 9th Street. Engine 11, Engine 12, Tower 1, PA219, Chief 1A, & Safety 1 responded from Company 1. Calvert County Sheriffs Office, Huntingtown VFD, Dunkirk VFD, & Anne Arundel FD units also responded to assist.
Safety 1 arrived on the scene with a 2 story split foyer, with fire showing. Engine 12 arrived, pulled an attack line and extinguished all fire. Chief 1A arrived on scene and assumed the command. Tower 1 arrived as the 1st truck to throw ladders, complete searches & open up. Engine 11 supplied Engine 12. Units cleared the fire ground around 0500 hours.
The NBVFD reminds all citizens to check their smoke detectors monthly to ensure they are in working condition.
Thankfully, there were no civilian or Fire Department injuries this morning. The cause of the fire has not been reported. |
