At 1735 hours, Area Box 110 was dispatched for the reported house on fire in the Chesapeake Lighthouse subdivision. Engine 11, Engine 12, Tower 1, PA219, Chief 1B and Safety Officer 1 responded from Company 1 along with other units from Calvert & Anne Arundel Counties. Safety Officer 1 arrived on scene to find a two-story end of the row townhouse with smoke showing from the Charlie side.

After his 360 was completed, a fire on the deck was found with extension into the exterior portion of the home. Engine 12 arrived on scene, laid out, and advanced an attack line to extinguish the fire. Tower 1 arrived and assisted with opening up for E12 as well as throwing ground ladders. Engine 11 arrived and picked up E12’s supply line and advanced a backup line. Chief 1B held the command and the box was quickly scaled back to hold Company 1 units only.

The NBVFD reminds everyone to keep ignition sources and flammable materials at least 10 feet away from a structure.
