On Sunday, March 3, 2024, 50 fire service officers and firefighters from Calvert, St. Mary’s, Howard, Anne Arundel, and Montgomery Counties, along with members from DC Fire and EMS, and Naval District of Washington, devoted their Sunday at Company 1 for a special day of education delivered by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). The training, underwritten by a grant from BGE, provided attendees with detailed firsthand accounts of line of duty deaths that occurred in Asheville (NC) and Boston (MA), the impact and aftermath of the tragedies, and an introduction to the a new approach to making decisions under pressure.

Special thanks to BGE, NFFF, the presenters, Dunkin’ Donuts in Dunkirk, Kimmy Retuna and the team at Mission BBQ in California (MD) for the memorable education experience and the delicious food that kept everyone fueled for the day.
