On October 21st 1926 members of the North Beach area created the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department, the first fire department in Calvert County. In those years members of NBVFD ran all calls in Calvert from North Beach to Solomans. 80 years later North Beach VFD is still goin strong and on October 21st 2006 we celebrated our 80 years of service, inviting all current members, life members, Past Presidents and Past Chiefs. The Auxilary Members celebrated their 60th year of service. Members enjoyed dinner catered by Beach Cove Restaurant and reminiscing of the old days.The North Beach VFD had a great 80 years and expect many more to come.
