Busy Weekend
NBVFD, March 24
It has been a busy weekend at the Beach house. Between hosting an EMT Refresher class, multiple members in Firefighter 1 class, a public education event for our Town, and Tower 1 filling in at Solomons VFD; members still made way for a station drill on stretching and advancing hose lines and staffing the station. NBVFD: Unlocking History
NBVFD, March 23
Two recently discovered office envelopes, tucked in a file drawer, revealed a treasure trove of department history. Fifty years of member applications were stored in the envelopes.
The earliest record in the file was that of William Fortier from Chesapeake Beach. He was “age 18 last birthday” according to an entry on the application to become an “active” member. William joined the department on ... (Full Story & Photos)

Fireboat 1 Training
NBVFD, March 17
This morning, several members participated in training to complete their qualifications to serve as mates on Fireboat 1.
Safety Officer Chris Mills and Senior Pilot Orval Thrasher conducted the training. Two members completed all of their requirements, while others continued with the progressive steps the department has in place.

Commercial Vehicle Fire
NBVFD, March 14
At 1852 hours on March 14, Co. 1, Co. 5, and Co. 6 were dispatched for a commercial vehicle fire. Units arrived to find a track loader fully involved, not threatening any structures. Chief 1 established command.
